**2023 Wuyi Rock Tea - Charcoal Roasted Da Hongpao ~**
Regarding Wuyi Rock Tea, it is often said that "good tea lies in the fire," and roasting is the most mysterious and unpredictable aspect of Wuyi Rock Tea. In charcoal-roasted Wuyi tea products, we see different aromas such as floral and fruity fragrances, as well as milky notes. In fact, these different aromas are also greatly related to the degree of roasting. The degree of roasting can be roughly divided into three categories: light roast, medium roast, and heavy roast.
This particular tea is a medium roast. The aroma is not as outwardly expressive as a lightly roasted Wuyi, but is more restrained, primarily featuring floral and fruity fragrances. The tea soup is bright red and clear, and the taste is more mellow and gentle, like a floral and fruity Da Hongpao.
Traditional charcoal roasting is one of the most technically demanding processes in the refining of Da Hongpao and is the key to endowing Da Hongpao with its soul. Da Hongpao has made the world aware of the marvelous craftsmanship of charcoal roasting, and at the same time, charcoal roasting has created the unique flavor and inner qualities of Da Hongpao.
