The "First Place" Champion Cake (狀元餅). As the benchmark product for judging the quality of raw Puerh, this tea was awarded "First Place" among the Top Ten Famous Teas of Yunnan Province, earning it the title of "Zhuangyuan" (Champion) Cake.
The 1901 batch is a very special edition within the 7542 family and is highly esteemed by tea enthusiasts. It offers a mellow, thick, and fragrant flavor profile with moderate bitterness and astringency that transforms into a rapid huigan (returning sweetness). The rundu (moistness/smoothness) is exceptional. The aroma is pure and lasting with distinct floral and fruity notes, while the tea liquor is an oily, bright orange-yellow with thick, uniform, and even spent leaves.
The 7542 recipe uses medium-to-strong tea leaves as the "skeleton" of the cake, topped with fine, tender buds and leaves. This creates a full-bodied structure with rich potential for transformation during aging. The cake shape is perfectly round, the base is ruddy and vibrant, and the liquor is transparent—approaching the color of amber. The taste is robust and concentrated, finishing with a sweet, refreshing lingering charm and lasting shengjin (salivation). It is highly suitable for both daily drinking and professional collection.
