Fushou Lishan tea is one of the representatives of Taiwan's top-tier high mountain oolong teas. The production area is located in the back mountain of Lishan and around Fushoushan Farm in Heping District, Taichung City, with an altitude reaching as high as 2,100 to 2,600 meters. Due to the cold and cool climate at high altitudes and the large temperature difference between day and night, the spring tea (usually harvested around May each year) grows slowly, and the fresh tea leaves are thick and plump, abundant in pectin and trace elements.
Core Flavor and Characteristics
- Unique Mountain Peak Qi (Shan Tou Qi): Inherently carries a high mountain cold mineral sensation and a piercing "mountain flood qi." The aroma is elegant and pure, carrying a natural sweet pear fruit scent or orchid scent.
- Tea Soup and Mouthfeel: A honey-green and translucent or golden-yellow tinged with green tea soup. The entry is smooth and full, the texture is fine, and the pectin sensation is distinct.
- Sweet Aftertaste (Hui Gan) and Steeping Endurance: The throat resonance is enduring and the sweet aftertaste is intense, producing a continuous flow of saliva. High-quality spring tea mostly utilizes light fermentation and zero roasting (raw tea), is neither bitter nor astringent, and is extremely enduring for multiple steepings.
