2015 Dayi 1501 Purple Dayi (Zi Dayi)

"This is a highly renowned Dayi tea product that continues the classic formula of the "96 Rose Dayi." For this 2015 release (Batch 1501), the raw materials were upgraded to include blended Bulang Arbor Big Tree material.

Tasting Profile:

  • Storage: Aged for 10 years in Taiwan dry storage.
  • Aroma: A fusion of fruit, honey, and woody fragrances.
  • Liquor: The soup has turned orange-yellow, with the Chen Yun (aged rhyme) beginning to show.
  • Taste: Thick and mellow with slight bitterness and light astringency. It offers a fast huigan (returning sweetness). The tea becomes more mellow and sweet with each steep, and the "tail water" (late steeps) has a high degree of sweetness.

Background & Lineage:
According to official descriptions, this tea upgrades the classic formula using Bulang High Mountain Arbor Early Spring tea. After a decade of transformation, it is now entering a prime drinking period.

The most famous tea in the "Purple Dayi" system is the 1996 Purple Dayi, known in the industry as "96 Rose Dayi" due to its purple wrapper and red inner ticket. The series continued with various raw and ripe productions between 2000 and 2004, including the famous 01 Purple Dayi, 03 Purple Dayi 7542, and Purple Dayi 8052.
