The signature high-end raw tea from Mengku Rongshi: the 2010 Mengku Mother Tree. This tea is crafted from the "Mother Tree" sun-dried green tea material of the Shuangjiang Mengku tea region, considered the progenitor of the Yunnan large-leaf tea variety. Using extremely fine material and traditional processing, the leaves are stout and prominent with silver down. The liquor is a bright, translucent yellow with a mellow, thick flavor and a high, long-lasting aroma. Both the huigan (returning sweetness) and lingering sweetness are excellent.
The tea possesses a rich, uplifting fragrance and a robust taste that strongly promotes shengjin (salivation). It features rapid huigan (returning sweetness) with no bitterness and only slight astringency. The mouthfeel has distinct undulations and strong astringency/structure. While the body of the soup is slightly thin, the chaqi (tea energy) is sufficient and highly durable through many infusions, finishing with a "rock sugar" sweetness in the final steeps.
