As a mid-to-old aged raw tea with 21 years of age, it belongs to a milder and honey-sweet style. When brewed strongly, it presents good balance, harmony, and has tea strength; combined with the plum yun ("character" or "finish"), honey yun, and aged yun that have already emerged, the tea soup appears to have a rich sense of depth. The tea strength is moderate, the later stages show a light rock sugar sweetness, and its endurance is considered quite good.
Overall, it is second only to the Batch 501 "White Cloth Strip" version, but it is superior to other batches from the same year and other batches from 2006.
Condition: The wrapping paper has tea oil stains and bug bites
Quality Characteristics: Using plump and robust tea leaves for the interior, and young, tender buds and leaves sprinkled on the surface, the blending is executed properly. The surface tea has a dark, lustrous color revealing bud hairs, and the core tea is plump and robust. The 502-7542 is hailed as the affordable alternative to the 501 White Cloth Strip; the tea soup has strong penetrating power, the taste is full with high concentration and intensity, it possesses a unique plum yun, and the final infusions are honey-sweet.
