2005 Dayi "Golden Needle White Lotus" Ripe Loose Puer Tea (Batch 501)
This Golden Needle White Lotus (Jinzhen Bailian) loose tea offers a liquor that is bright red, brilliant, and clear, shimmering like agate. The taste is sweet, mellow, smooth, and delicate, with a pure chen xiang (aged aroma) and a distinct he xiang (lotus fragrance) and lian yun (lotus rhyme/character). It is highly favored because of its visible buds, prominent jin hao (golden hairs/down), elegant lotus fragrance, long-lasting hui yun (returning charm/aftertaste), bright red liquor, and pure, sweet, refreshing taste. Due to its limited production, it has always been regarded by tea enthusiasts as a treasure among Puer teas. As one devoted tea lover described it in verse: "The hou run (throat moistening) evokes floating spiritual peaks; the chi xiang (fragrance between the teeth) surpasses the clear wind."

About Golden Needle White Lotus
Golden Needle White Lotus (Jinzhen Bailian) was first created by the Menghai Tea Factory in Yunnan and is a type of ripe Puer tea. Its recipe originates from the famous historical Yunnan tea "Nu Er Cha" (Daughter Tea). It uses high-grade cha qing (raw tea leaves/maocha) processed with the exquisite fermentation technology of the Dayi Menghai Tea Factory. The tea features prominent buds with golden tips, fine and tight like needles, hence "Golden Needle" (Jinzhen). The color is chestnut with grayish-white tones, exuding a lotus fragrance and possessing a unique "Lotus Rhyme" (Lian Yun), hence "White Lotus" (Bailian). This led to the name "Golden Needle White Lotus".
In October 2005, the high-end ripe tea "Golden Needle White Lotus" launched by Dayi participated in the 2nd China International Tea Expo and won the highest honor for Puer tea, the "Gold Medal".
