After the "501 Dayi 0562 Ripe Cake" was first created and released in 2005, it won the "Special Gold Award" at the 3rd China International Tea Expo in Beijing in September 2006, the highest award at the Tea Expo.
The launch of 0562 in December 2005 coincided with the 1st anniversary of Menghai Tea Factory's privatization. Menghai Tea Factory also obtained QS certification during this period, The QS mark on the front cotton wrapper was applied as an adhesive sticker, making 0562 among the first batches of Dayi Puerh tea to bear the QS mark.
Batch 501 of 0562 is called the "'Bo' Character New Year Greeting Cake" (Bó Zì Hèsuì Bǐng). - If you look at the wrapper, the seal below 0562 features a large calligraphic "Bo" 博 character. This is from Yunnan Bowen Investment Co, the company that acquired Menghai Tea Factory in 2005. - To the left and right of the seal are floral medallions containing the characters He and Sui, meaning New Year Greeting.
