Commonly referred to as "01 Jianyun 7542" (Simplified Yun 7542), this is a celebrated entry in the benchmark 7542 lineage, sharing a direct lineage with 88 Qingbing and 97 Shui Lanyin (Water Blue Mark).
Aged for over two decades in clean Taiwan dry storage, the cake surface is dark brownish-black with an oily sheen. The tea liquor pours a clear, luminous chestnut-red. In the mouth, it is full and substantial, with dense floral and fruity aromatics. Aged woody notes have already emerged, accompanied by fruity sweetness and prominent dark plum character (plum yun), with abundant tea energy (cha qi) and enduring resonance (cha yun).
The name "Simplified Yun" (簡體雲) originates from the character for "Yun" in "Yunnan Qizi Bing" on the wrapper being printed in the simplified script "云". First appearing in 2001 (all prior productions utilized the traditional character "雲"), this distinct typography makes it instantly recognizable. Simplified Yun has consequently become an iconic, highly collected masterpiece from the pre-privatization state-run era, possessing exceptional drinking and collection value.
