1980s Liu Bao Tea
This Liu Bao tea from the 1980s is fragrant and mellow, with a full-bodied flavor. The liquor texture is soft, glutinous, thick, and smooth. It offers a warm, moist, and penetrating qigan (energy sensation/body feel) and a clear houyun (throat rhyme/finish). The chenyun (aged character/aroma) is prominent, with a lingering aftertaste that is enjoyable to savor repeatedly.
After brewing with boiling water, aromas of ginseng, medicinal herbs, and mellow woodiness combine to form a sweet, woody-medicinal fragrance that is rich and complex, interspersed with a faint sweet scent of milk toffee. The tea liquor is mellow and sweet upon entry, with a hint of sweet coolness on the tongue's surface. The liquor is soft and smooth, possessing a nuogan (glutinous sensation) and a huagan (melting sensation)—a permeating feeling akin to ice cream melting on the tongue. It hardly requires swallowing; the tea liquor seems to form a bolus and flows smoothly down the throat. Upon reaching the stomach, it imparts a warm sensation. The qigan (energy sensation/body feel) is warm and moist, gradually permeating and spreading throughout the body with continued sipping, leading to a feeling of qi circulating through all meridians. Slight perspiration may occur, and the body feels warm and clear. It brings a 'warm and comfortable' feeling (暖意融融 - nuǎnyì róngróng), becoming increasingly relaxing with each sip, offering a high degree of physical comfort.
